Until next time, peacekeepers!Ī few years ago we’d announced we planned to bring Starbound to consoles, and dedicated a lot of our studio resources into re-designing the UI for consoles and optimizing the game resources to work on consoles – working closely with Blitworks, who did a fantastic job helping us with the porting. We’re also supporting Jingle Jam by Yogscast again this holiday season, where you can grab a bundle with Starbound and some other great titles to support charity! In the meantime, if you want to see what else we at Chucklefish are up to, you can follow us on Twitter here and chat to us in Discord here.
Planetbase console commands update#
We’ve seen all the requests for an update on console development, and we understand this isn’t the news everyone’s looking for – but we want to address it and reassure we are still working on it with our partners! We’ve worked with a number of different developers to try and address this, and have made some progress – but we’re still not confident enough to say when it might be ready. Our last update was that the console version was suffering from serious performance issues with 3-4 players together in some scenarios and we felt it couldn’t be released to the public in that state. Last year we shared a number of updates about Starbound’s Xbox console version, which we’d been showing at public events and felt was nearly ready. This is a great chance to try Starbound if you’re an Xbox Games Pass subscriber – and we’re so pleased to have it join the great collection of titles available! It’s a fantastic value at only $9.99 a month and you’ll also gain access to over 100+ wonderful games (aside from our very own Wargroove, we also recommend checking out Carto, Ape Out and Frostpunk).
Planetbase console commands Pc#
It becomes easy to know when an attack is coming. We’ve got some exciting news! Starbound will be releasing December 8th on Xbox Games Pass for PC!! This version is PC only, and identical to other PC versions with the new additions of Xbox achievements, and the ability to invite and join friends through your Xbox Live network. Eventually you learn to spot the pirates, they dont have any status markers like hungry or hurt.

This means the first place your pirates will be is surrounded by security, to make things even more safe? Double that, a command center connected by a command center. The best security set up I have found is have an airlock directly near the landing pad, which connects witha long hall to a command center. Eventually pirates will come raid and if you have no security, everyone will die. The idea is a bit different with stations that work passively like bio domes for food and meat synthesizers. So even though you have the resources to build 3 metal processors or 2 nurses stations, dont do that. In general you dont want equipment that wont be used as much as possible. If you have 1 person manning 3 processors, its going to take them 3 times as long to make one piece of metal as they will jump back and forth. Think about it in extremes, if you had 3 people operating 1 processor, its going to be running nonstop also using one metal ore and pumping out 1 piece of metal. If you lose some colonists, shut down certain processors to make up for the loss of staff. This is an important concept to understand in this game. You would rather have 1 processor working fulltime, than 2 processors working part time. One note on building metal processors and basically any resources line. This means, storing up resources before building new sections. If you are not chasing challenges, just build slow and you should be fine. It's a lot harder if you're trying to beat a time limit or whatever is in the challenges.īasically what Frother said. The game is extremely easy if you take it really slow. You also want to avoid getting your prestige or whatever too high as the bad guys arrive and start making life hard, so you generally stay below 100 prestige or whatever until your ready, then just build to control centres in a row, with only 1 way in. Having no storage rooms at all is often a benefit as your guys dont waste so much time moving shit around. But if you run out of power and a guy who wants to work, can't work, snowballs pretty bad.

Make sure you never run out of power whatsoever as you really need your dudes working all the time, you can micromanage the start by disabling the mine and the rooms that arent needed frequently. Once you've over extended, you often don't realize until like 15 minutes later. You just don't expand too fast, go fairly slow and get stable, stay at around 20-40 guys for ages until you have tons of supplies, then slowly expand.
